Delta drivers?

What's your FOM say about taxing with lights on at night. Specifically, when nose to nose with another aircraft? Are you allowed to turn them off?

Delta drivers, CRJ drivers, American pilots... it's like your brights when driving. Sometimes you forget.
Other times- say a dark, rainy night with worn out taxi lines- I've had to turn them back on because I can't see squat and, as much as I don't want my lights to blind the other guy I also don't want to run into taxi edge lights.

Just curious because more often than not, it's a widget tailed blinder. Had one tonight, nose to nose. We turned off oirs, they didn't turn of theirs. I even suggested how bright it was, reply was "yup, it's new and brighter.". Kind of a dick move.

It's a total dick move to be face to face with someone, and leave a landing light on. It destroys night vision. Especially when the other guy was nice enough to turn his off for you. Show the same courtesy in return. It's not asking a lot.

So turn your lights on for a second and see if they get the hint.

I say Delta should buy everyone cool shades from the A4A money they're saving so no one gets blinded. 5 million can buy an awful lot of Oakleys.

Maybe it's a Delta gang initiation thing.
The delta "jumping in" that takes place after.

It happens. Some pilots are jerks. Some aren't. They aren't limited to one airline.

I agree. It just seems I'm blinded at night every time in Atlanta at night by them. That's why I asked the question if it was an FOM policy. Like maybe anytime they are in motion they must have them on. Thought maybe guys were just following the rules.
