I heard interview invites are being sent out now. Good luck all!
Precisely. Internals are being contacted already. I was told they were going to try and fill the class with as many internals as they could.Well considering the job posting has not been posted, I would imagine these invites are for internal candidates.

Well, in that case, I will make sure they hire me thenIf seniority and schedule matters to you then you really want to get into this January class.
While I can't say its a majority, there is definitely a decent contingent at Southwest in the dispatch department that view internal experience as part of the process of paying dues before coming into dispatch. That culture along with the huge number of qualified internals means there is a long waiting list of people that want to get into dispatch and no shortage of people in dispatch that want to help them get the job.
That being said under the current management, external experience has more weight than it maybe had in the past so I would expect a significant number hired in this class to be external. Like PJ mentioned after this January class, the hiring will not likely be in as large of numbers as the past several classes so people hired after this one will likely be on the bottom for a significant period of time. If seniority and schedule matters to you then you really want to get into this January class.

IMHO dues paying in dispatch comes dispatching at the regionals and non-legacy/WN/NK types, even more so when trying to make into the legacies/WN/NK. That is were your talent for dispatch should be pulled from.
