LANDCARE AVIATION is looking for pilots

I have my application in! My worry is that I have a little too much time at 800tt. I'm sure these guys get burned with folks leaving before the season it up. With 22 years on active duty and 28 years of marriage, please know I understand what the word "commitment" means!:)
 
I arrive at RME tomorrow. The Picto threads seem very quite this year compared to years prior. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting started.
 
My instructor said that the shortage of pilots is coming, five years ago. Im finding out he was right but I still need a job.

My instructor told me in 1992 that his instructor told him that the pilot shortage is coming. It's been coming since 1904.
But alas, it might actually be here...sort of.
I've got a buddy that applied to a regional and got called for a class date instead of an interview. There are more flight schools now offering salary and benefits and are still understaffed!
I'm giving Delta and FedEx about another year before they probably start calling guys like me, begging me to come fly their airplanes so they can stop canceling flights!
Ahem, I should stop posting when I first wake up...
 
I just spoke with the boss and there MIGHT be a slot still open or maybe the pool is just not deep enough. Either way feel free to submit your resume. I won't not call, this is the busiest time of the year for them and they just don't have the time to field phone calls. I'll take PMs but remember, I'm busy too! LOL!

I've talked to a few Landcare pilots, this seems like a pretty good gig. You're in charge of maintaining your plane, setting up hotel reservations, rental cars, contacting FBOs etc. as you fly across the country. Plus you're exploring all kinds of new airspace in different cities. From the outside looking in, it looks like a pretty good opportunity!

All daytime VFR (can't shoot pictures in low light and below weather mins). You'll get your night and IFR positioning between projects.

Only curious bc I was given a night restriction on my medical for colorblind thought this may be an option
 
I think northern states aviation, another Pictometry vendor, doesn't allow night flying; might look into them (and that rule might've changed)

In that case, this sort of stuff would be perfect since there's no requirement to fly at night (unless you're actively trying to get the time, like me, on ferry and such)
