Delta TA

As a future Deltoid, can someone explain the JV scope clause? I'm having a hard time understanding this. Right now JV flying is based on seats, not airframes? And the TA switches it to airframes? Even with all the WB orders does this look like a possible loss of intl flying? How about new hire pay, still the standard training pay or did that go up as well? Thanks.

The JV was EASK or Equivalent Air Seat Kilometers. So if say AF put an A380 on a route, that was equal to two Delta 767s. More pilots needed. Now it is based on block hours so an A380 is equal to a 757. Loss of pilots.

As for new hire pay, it was bumped up, and I believe hotels may be included(?) I've heard it both ways, but haven't seen the full language yet.

don't know if it's true or not but heard from a buddy today QX was talking about 190s ~$30 below Jetblue rates
I'm not sure how it compares, but if you take our rates, +15%...that's what 96-127 rates are for us...for jetz

Well I'll say that I'm very happy to be at Alaska but it definitely seems like Delta is leading the way in regaining mainline flying from the regionals. Hopefully our union can learn a thing or two.
That's exactly how I see it at Atlas, too. Rooting for all you guys to get great CBAs signed before our negotiations open next year.

EDIT: Sorry, misread your post a bit... but you get my drift. ;)

someone posted on the other site that "company commits to new hire lodging 1/1/16" or something like that

I dig it!

Rushed.

Not enough loot.

Crap language.

That's about the alpha and the omega of how I feel.

If I were fresh from the anal fungus that is the regional business, I'd probably think "Ehh, not bad!"

Close to retirement, I'd probably think, "Welp, every percentage increase counts and I won't be around long enough to be affected by the work rules"

Right in the middle with a little over 20 years left, isotope NOPE.

I think you guys should settle for nothing less than the pre-bankruptcy contract, adjusted for cost of living, and restore the retirement they took. Let them have the profit sharing. Fedex and UPS still have A plans/pensions and that was once the status quo. Profit sharing seems like a moving target that shouldn't be sought after as a substitute for an A plan and hourly rates.

I disagree.

I've heard differently. Industry leading compensation was a top priority along with keeping the profit sharing program. The priority wasn't keeping it exactly as it was even if it meant lower compensation.

Delta is on the verge of Industry leading rates of AA+3.5% then plus profit sharing percentage. If Delta makes $6 billion pilot pay beats AA compensation by 13.5%. If Delta makes $10billion AA is beaten by 25.5%

@BobDDuck how did you come to the conclusion the pay raise was cost neutral with the 6% profit sharing hit?

Is that chart really saying you can make $350,000 flying 747 or 777?

I like the "money in my own name"/B-fund.

I really don't trust other pilots to make rational decisions when it comes to my pocketbook. If we did get an A-fund, I'm not confident that a bunch of airline pilots that took the "weekend negotiating course" wouldn't trade it away for shiny objects and beads again.

"You may have lost your pension, but we got 3.B.6 back! #winning!"

Some win. Recaptured small airplane scope at the expense of WB scope. Hope you like flying domestic NBs for your career as our JV partners take over the international flying. And quit just focusing on pay rates. That should be the last thing that factors into a YES or NO vote. At least at Delta anyway. The LCA debacle trumps everything. Even if they gave us a 25% pay bump, its still a NO for be because of it.

As long as it's not Emirates or Qatar doing the flying, it's okay, right?
