Using an RV as a crash pad

Just curious and ready to get flamed if this seems like a crazy idea, but has anyone used or looked into using a smaller RV as a crash pad? I know a lot of contract guys who do firefighting do just that. Thanks.

I remember an article in the newspaper in the years after 9/11 about a group of UAL pilots who were keeping RVs in the employee parking lot for that purpose because they couldn't afford hotels after the pay cuts. So it has been done.

I saw the same article in the WSJ today, seems like a viable solution. Was curious if anyone had practical experience, especially if I will be doing reserve for the first 6 months or so.

That was out at LAX, off the arrival end of 25L. They got moved out a few months ago. Not sure where they went or why.

My Dad picked up a guy's RV on a distress sale...got it for about half what it was worth. This thing is nicer than a number of apartments I've had over the years.

I would have zero issues with living in that thing if I needed to.
