PEOPLExpress

Don't know, but they are at least going to operate their own cert and they HAVE the money to buy planes. PEX just wanted to sell tickets and have someone else fly the planes. That's fine but the model has never worked and when you try and drop one supplimental group for another the feds don't let you change airlines like underwear.

This ^^. It appears they also found a "more reliable source with 3 airplanes" to do their flying. Word is that it's Orange Air, but I don't know how that will happen. I'm not sure how the PEX employees are taking it, but all the V2 guys are okay. I also love how they said one of the planes had "engine trouble" when all that it needed was just an A check.

An executive lying? So it ain't so Joe!

The crazy thing is...and we all know it...is that you really never know what will happen.

We, in our industry, like to think this is something that is unique to us but in a very real reality - it happens in pretty much every industry out there.

Best we can do is buckle up, strap in, fly(ight) on, and see where we land. Only thing we can do beyond that is adjust power to hopefully control our trajectory a hint so that we land somewhere comfortable.

Maybe it's best that V2 concludes the relationship with PEX(?).

Unfortunately, and it pains me to say it, you just have to stay flexible as an employee in is industry. Just keep a lot of money in savings for when you bet wrong.

Or some side income. Or an EBT card. Or ObamaCare.

Sumtin.

No, I think it's pretty clear this wasn't going to work. Why politicians allow tax payers to fund these operations, I don't know.
Well they bet big and they were convinced their little community a bridge away from Norfolk was hub material. Get new elected officials. Business people do this stuff all the time and it's always passed off as "we don't know if we don't try" or "90% of buisnesses fail, you have to be ready to fail in order to succeed" crap.

Sales people get suckered by sales people. Sales people tend towards politics too. My grandpa never falls for anything because he's pretty sure everyone's a lying cheat who is trying to sell anything. Now let's forget for a second he's 100% correct and sales is a four letter word. Some areas doing very well risking, like COU in missouri. They enticed Northwest to their airport using a Saab340 at first, and the loads were so full all the time they ended up with 3x daily RJ service, for an area that couldn't fill a 402 2x a day.

Newport news is a wealthy area, while I doubt People Express is done, even if they are I doubt the locals feel like are in trouble. #richpeopleproblems

I thought Orange just picked up their second -87? Unless PEX is looking to reduce capacity this wouldn't be a good way to go.
They don't have the revenue to fly airplanes period it seems to me, but vision left them so they need someone new to fly under their banner.

I see what you are saying but that makes even less sense... operating cost just in fuel on a -87 is going to be high and the CASM will probably increase significantly. If you don't have any pax or revenue source you should probably just shut down and stem the loss of money.

Right. So now we are back where we started ----->
Peopleexprss has left PHF with unpaid bills and they aren't welcome back.
Did Peopleexpress leave or did Vision?
