Made the first turnoff, too...

Awww, yeah. Just Mitsing it, no big thing.

To be fair, if they'd needed the medical supplies in the swamp behind the airstrip, they could have just as easily called a King Air, i suppose.

Although who put a GPWS in a Mitsi is beyond me. Don't they know the system is worth more than the airplane?

I thought this was going to be about this-

DENVER - A small plane with landing gear issues successfully made an emergency landing at Denver International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

The three people onboard did not sustain any injuries.

The Hawker HS25B left Centennial Airport at 11 a.m. Shortly after takeoff, a tire blew and damaged the hydraulic system.

The aircraft started circling DIA's airspace. The airport prepared for a possible gear-up landing.

The plane landed around 3:15 p.m. Emergency crews could be seen surrounding the aircraft, spraying foam on it as a precaution..

DIA worked closely with Denver Fire, Denver Health, Denver Police and the FAA to prepare for this landing.

The plane is registered to the Monforts, owners of the Colorado Rockies. However, a spokesperson for the team said the Monforts were not onboard.

This is not saying much.

Fair point. According to the ole logbook, I've spent the most time in the MU-2B, but the Bitchjet is a close second, with the BE99 and CE210 duking it out for third. So the competition is admittedly not quite what you'd call "fierce". That said, what have you flown that would stop in ~1000ft and carry 3000lbs of "no seriously, we need this right now" at 280 knots for 4 hours?

leaving with a load however...

Mama Mitsi is a bit of a groundhog. 2100ft, they'd better have been empty and not much gas getting back out. Either that or Flaps 40 and if an engine hiccups before you're at 120 knots and cleaned up, close em both and assume the position. That said, no King Air would do it, if only for the fact that it would necessarily be flown by a King Air pilot.

I'd take the 1900 out of there in my hey day - for sure. I'd need to be light, but I bet I could carry more than the Mitsi ;)

An EMB-145.

And maybe not 1,000', but 2,500' and and it'd do 450 knots for 3 hours no problem.
