Here are some pictures from my first couple days off IOE in the 207. Luckily it has been gorgeous.

So how do you like her so far? You can pack a lot of weight/loads onto her for sure. She's a sturdy workhorse. Will you be hauling pax, supplies/freight or both? Nice pics.

Thanks. So far I really like her. Right now with the cooler temps it performs rather well. We will see what it is like as things really start to warm up. For now I am just flying cargo, but down the road I may get the passenger checkout. For now I like cargo. :)

I imagine (correct me if I am wrong) that is why the 207 seems to be so popular up there.......very economical considering how much you can carry on one. I would also guess in the warmer months that performance may suffer a bit though.

Flying "stuff" is always easier/nicer to deal with than pax, so I don't blame you there. lol Congrats again on your upgrade. As my Dad used to tell me when I would give him some 'what if' scenarios, "Pay attention, don't assume anything, listen to your plane, always attempt to do better and just don't do anything stupid."

I know you'll do a great job and have some terrific adventures/experiences.

Lol, warm. LOLOLOL. Alaska, where a high DA is 2500ft.

I loved last summer when it was in the 90's in FAI and people were like, better watch out for the Density Altitude. OMG it's over -1000ft!

Awesome. But damn... I hope that engine keeps turning for you. That's some unforgiving terrain below you.

Very true. However with how little it has snowed this winter there are tons of perfectly suitable frozen lakes to land on. Already been done this winter.

Calculated risk, amirite? I can't think of all the hundreds of hours I flew single engine pistons over hopeless terrain in the dark, just assuming that the engine would never let me down. You Alaska guys are required to carry a certain amount of survival equipment anyway, right?

Yep. All calculated risk. I am always looking for a place to put it down if need be. Certainly not as easy around Unalakleet. We do carry a tote of survival equipment in our nose. Hope to never have to use it.

Man, that looks nice compared to southeast AK. Options are ocean, mountains, or trees. With small amounts of beach that are your only real option. Nice to have two motors or a turbine around here.

Oh I know it all too well. Flew a T210 from Washington up through Alaska and back. For the first leg to Ketchikan, we flew VFR direct at 17.5k because we knew that if anything went wrong, we wanted as much time as possible in the glide to report our position and maybe find a not-completely-awful location to attempt a landing. Hardly any options at all between Ketchikan and Vancouver.

That sounds like quite a trip!
Sexy beast! ^.^
