daily pic

I was messing around with some time lapse stuff this morning too. Still hunting angles and foreground subjects.

What kind of body/lens did you shoot these with? They came out great, thanks for sharing

Much better than my attempt a few months ago

Surfer Lucas' F-5 nose (sign: "Do not plus or deform holes...") reminded me of another 'Military Spelling' from my days in funny green clothing.

Jerrycans labelled "Portable Water." They were. Both.

Are you sure they didn't say "Potable water"? A very valid label...

Somewhat aviation as I attended the week long Pistol 250 class at the legendary Gunsite Academy (Jeff Cooper) in Paulden, Arizona. We had all types of folks, including surgeons, business owners, military and former military, police officers, etc. One of those attending was former NASA Astronaut Jim Bagian who flew on STS29 and 40. Super nice guy and very humble. Great meeting him.

Triggertrap w/iPhone 4s for shutter control.

Worth getting? I've been thinking about it for a while as it's a pretty cheap way to get a whole lot more control of my camera. Does the 30 bucks include the dongle that goes into the camera as well or just the headphones to adapter portion?

I found that the railroad ties were perfectly spaced for someone six feet tall. Did you guys hike the rim as well? It's badass.

The problem is that every 20 ties or so there is a change in spacing or a concrete tie in the middle that throws off your rhythm when you are running the stairs. The rim is fun. I've done it as a night hike a few times as well. Not too bad except for the one down climb section on the Eva side... and the random strands of barbed wire at the lower end.

Honestly the jury is still out on it. The biggest downside is you can't lock your phone and have it work in the background so if you were doing some pretty lengthy sequence to make a movie out of 500 shots or so it would seriously drain your phone. It works for me since I switched phones and now I just use my old iPhone 4s in my camera bag with star gazer apps and trigger trap. With 3G disabled it lasts for a few days.
$30 gives you everything. Depending on the camera though if it has wireless capabilities there are some apps out there that will do the same thing with no additional equipment.

Do you use any of the super fancy time-lapse stuff it has, like the distance based mode?

It's interesting, but I think I'll stick with my $10 intervalometer from amazon.

I've used the thing <10 times total. The motion detect is kinda cool. If I would a found a intervalometer for $10 I probably woulda gotten that.

I went ahead and ordered it. It would seem that the phone locking issue could be worked out in software maybe down the road. I've got a D90 so no wireless ability. Thanks for the info on it.
