New Eagle TA

The act of omission is a form of communication.

Sometimes one really needs to put their thinking cap on. Not every message can be as clear, loud, direct and crass as a late night infomercial.

It really isn't. Maybe it can be, but not here. Not these people.

These are 6 people who wan't this to fail, but want to be in a position of least responsibility for it succeeding or failing.

I find it amusing that some of the loudest "eagle strong" (and sorry, that's an abomination that should never have been allowed to be named) supporters are the most fearful about this thing going out to pilot vote.
The last TA did not go out to the pilots because some of our ALPA volunteers/reps thought it would pass.

Is that what they told you or are you just speculating?

My rep voted it down because the
majority of us asked him to.

I am thankful the union, our elected representatives, realized it was insulting to ask for concessions during a time of record profits at AA and a great shortage of people willing to work for so little.

But hey yeah let's send it to the pilot group. I have faith that you are in the minority.

It's hearsay, but it was said by a few people.

He, and a few others, negotiated with the company without permission or knowledge of the council.

Pretty difficult for the negotiating committee to do that. Even if they did- that's on the chairman. Furthermore, negotiating doesn't equal agreeing.

@LoadMasterC141 read this a few times. Bill has to ok anything they do. The same way Tony played games is the same reason nothing could happen without Bill's ok.

I am certainly using supposition, but yes, my best guess is you are a yes voter. You know the sweetening. It is not much. Am I wrong?

I don't think we fully know what the "sweetening" means yet. The language will be key, as always. Face value, right now, probably vote yes.

I look forward to your unity inspiring vitriol (if facebook is any indicator).

6 MEC members of FPL is around $5,000 dollars and they decided to represent their pilots with silence.

Well, regardless of FPL...that makes no damn sense.

What is it with ALPA MEC Members, elected by pilots to be leaders, failing to lead?

Is this generation of Airline Pilot empty of leaders?

3-0-6...what a joke. Nice 6 yes votes.

Scumbags. This serves to show how crooked eagle and ALPA are....It will pass, not because it won't get voted down, but because it's a charade and it's clear that they're going to do whatever they want anyway without regard to bylaws, popular vote, or representative style voting. It's the American Eagle way...What's that called when you say "No," and then get screwed anyway? Hmmm....

Bill cannot, and could not, stop them from doing something on their own - Which is exactly what they did. Once Bill found out, what he did from there is the question.

If you're mad that it passed the MEC, you should call your rep that you all high-fived for voting no last time, and ask why they abstained and failed to properly represent your wishes.

It is hard to be united when we vehemently disagree with each other. I do not believe this is the time or place to take a single concession. Much like you I would
personally benefit from this passing because I am as close to CA as you. However, I have put aside any personal gains and looked at it from a greater good/pay it forward standpoint (the very principles that solidified here in Doug's living room). This industry needs some people with a backbone to stand up and fight because for the first time, we have enough going for us that we can.

Could this end up in some personal loss for me? Sure. In the short term. I really don't believe a company, that is bleeding pilots faster than any nightmare they ever had, is going to stay away for long. If they do, so be it . We all should have back up plans.

The problem is that there are a group of people here at Eagle who are so anti-management they would vote NO to anything. The company could offer up raises and they would still want to burn this place to the ground.

This TA may not be perfect, but it offers us career progression and stability on a level never before seen at ANY Regional airline. Period.
