Comical/Sickening Pheonix East Aviation Video

I stumbled across this video and it's so wrong on so many levels. At first I laughed, and then it pissed me off:

WTF? You get to wear a uniform with wings and 3 bar epaulets as a student pilot? Here are some interesting highlights-

  • The 19yo CFI at 2:23 with the 787 lanyard. I guess he's one of the "highly qualified instructors" and "highly experienced pilots". LOL
  • Daytona has (supposedly) 360 days a year of excellent flying weather.
  • I bet you'll love the guy from South Korea at 8:40 with the "pilot" uniform wearing those funky sunglasses and tennis shoes with white laces.
  • 11:30 - The pay as a pilot is excellent!
  • 12:04 - You get to put on cool aviator sunglasses!
Sorry, maybe I'm being a jerk. Everything about that video is such a joke to me!

What's dumber? PHX East or you for actually watching 12 minutes of that garbage?

I guess you never had the pleasure of CFI'ing in Florida, eh? It's commonplace down there unfortunately. I jumpseated out of DAB for a while and those PEA students would stroll through the terminal in their uniforms- they probably got off on people thinking they were real pilots! It made me laugh, at least.

All kidding aside guys, for those in the know, are these students receiving good, well organized training in the minimum time without being ripped off?

Diamond DA42 twin engine plane is 8 miles from the last fix thingy, maintain 2,000 until established on the beam thingy, cleared to clear out your savings. Am I doing this right!?!?!?
