Eagle "thrown under the bus"? You decide.

FFD carriers are flying the majority of Domestic departures correct? Lets start a new union called Domestic Airline Pilot's Association. DALPA!

I love that RA is sitting in his ridiculous office in ATL somewhere and some peeon is probably running in his office saying the regional pilots are bringing their pitch forks. He kicks his feet up on his desk and just chuckles.

What a sick game.

@Screaming_Emu, I would like to point out that your MEC Chair gave the nominating speech for Moak at the Board of Directors meeting when he was running for President. Might want to write an email to him concerning that.......

Remember, the MEC chair doesn't indicate support of the pilots they represent because, for some doofus reason, we don't get a voice.

We can talk to our LEC representatives, but at the end of the day, they're going to do what they're going to do, vis a vis the chairman at my airline which we have now. I can't tell you a single regular line joe that supports him, but the FPL and volunteers think he's the best thing since slice bread and frozen concentrated orange juice.

Can we start getting some "Lee Moak doesn't speak for me stickers and crap?" How did we get a management stooge to be our ALPA president?

Here's the sanitized cartoon version, the timeline may be a little off:

a. "Do it once, do it right" -- ok guys, we give now, if they declare, we've already given. Everyone agrees, including management, sign here.

b. BANKRUPTCY!

c. MEC Chair: "We already gave at the office, put up your dukes, management!"

d. WOT?! We're replacing our MEC chair?

e. Who is this guy? We never even heard of him, why weren't the line pilots consulted? I thought we, and I quote, "don't want to change horses mid-stream"? that doesnt' apply any more?

f. "WE WILL NOT BLINK!"

g. Clean out your lockers, we're probably going on strike!

h. STRIKE AVERTED! We gave up WOT?! But... BUT... Sign here or you'll put a gun to our head. Wait, isn't management supposed to say that?

i. He went that guy who "lost sleep because he didn't get enough out of the pilots" birthday party, really?

j. Sideline that... USAirways is coming! TO ARMS! *rabble* *rabble* *rabble*

<dust clears>

k. What? New reality? They weren't concessions but a "reset"? You don't think we deserve to get our money back?! Who do you work for?!

l. Who IS this guy? Argh! Get rid of hi... wait, he's gone to national. Not our problem any more. Good riddance.

Here we are.

Last minute deal was made with Alaska if I recall. Their votes in exchange for the VP spot. Took a lot of people by surprise.

"EMIRATES IS COMING! FIGHT! BACK THE PAC!!!"

<Alaska Codeshare Signed>

This must be the reason that UA's aviators are also talking about bringing the union in-house. (Just my speculation...)

There's also a big push for DPA at my airline as well. While I don't necessarily support the drive, I do think we need an administration change at national and fresh thinking on our airline's MEC, not the normal "here's who the last guy bred to take my place".

Now you can see why I was bounced for consideration for "strike" -- even though I'm one of a handful of people that had actually been on strike. ;)

No room for rational dissent in this administration. Lockstep or to the brig.

Still doesn't make it right. With all of the backroom shenanigans that went down that day, I'm suprised that no one has called for an investigation.

I thought ALPA magazine just touted that the ALPA regionals signed a "Stop the whipsaw" pact. Hmmmmm.....(rubs chin.)

Ahhhhhh gotcha.
