10 years ago this evening I was researching aviation jobs...

10 years ago I was 9 months deep into a 4 1/2 year furlough from Delta. This was the look on my face: :mad::fury::bang::confused::(
In the interim did you fly or did you leave aviation? The reason I ask is a buddy of mine from high school watched his dad hang it up from flying after his furlough from united.

10 years ago I was a junior in high school. Also, I started running every day around that time, something which I have continued to do ever since.

Didn't touch the controls once. I did however get a job with a small ACMI cargo hauler as a mid level manager in crew operations, so I got that going for me.

In that order ? :)

All at once. Made me look like this guy.

10 years ago I was instructing in Glendale, AZ. Flew C-172s and 152s all summer long. Those were good times and I got to work with some really great people.

10 years ago I had just started my freshman year of highschool. Now I feel old.

You've done a hell of a lot in those 10 years, Dale. More than many ever will in their careers.

Congratulations! I cant believe what you have done in ten years. Very impressive. You show the power of networking.

and you know, some folks get the wrong idea about networking...I don't do it because it's good for my career, I like people, and I want to know and help others. Other people want to help me...it's really that simple. I really am more about building relationships that will last beyond any one career or getting the next job.

Ethan, you are doing something I would have loved to do with the inter-island flying....eventually will you fly to the west coast as well?

2 year seat lock. After that, we'll see. I have a standing bid in for the widebody so probably.

nice...so is Austrailia in the mix too?

Domestic and international is the same category on both widebodies so I'd guess so. When the 321s arrive those will only have the range to do the west coast, but that is still a few years away.
