"All is well, all hail the memo writers!"

"AMMA stab yeeeeeew!"

"Let's fight behind the quad!"

It must be boring at cruise altitude...

That's just plain sad!

Ooooooh...good rumor! We already have several 737-900 on the production line and I think one or more has already been competed and are close to if not near ready for flight test phase.

I pass by the flight line in Renton almost every day. I'll keep my eye out for it.

So I'm hearing with all of the pilots returning and the preferential hires the odds aren't good for someone off the street.

My advice to you and anyone else looking to get hired off the street is to not over analyze it, apply like you are expecting an invite email tomorrow, and remain optimisitic. You have no idea what will happen and most of us believe they will hire slightly more than they have advertised. If that happens you could see the walls come down and a bunch of guys coming in off the street. It will happen quickly if it does and if you wait for news it will be too late. The people who have positioned themselves early and ACTIVELY pursued the position will get hired. Those who wait for news will be too late and be left complaining to their next FO about the phantom 27 year female FO that "just flew with my friend" who was neighbors with the Director of Flt Ops....blah blah blah. Don't be that guy. We don't want him anyway.

I know waiting sucks. I've been there and done that. Had a job that I thought was mine disappear only to have opportunity reappear through what I believe was shear determination. I made applying to airlines and updating applications a part time job.

Thanks for the information and encouragement. I applied and have been updating my application weekly. I have also gotten my hands on all the gouge I can find and have been studying. I am going suit shopping this month and will attend an interview prep in October. If my number gets called I will be ready. If not I will be able to do a better job at my company and will look better at weddings in a suit that's not 8 years old and 2 sizes too large. :)

You're my hero. I fly with people, who "need to update" their logbooks, all the time.

I mean do you just set it and forget it or do you have to update little things so it stays active?

A rep from airlineapps told me most airlines have the shuffle set to 30 days. If you log in to the website within the preceding 30 days, your application will remain active.

I would make updating your times a monthly event. Not only will it keep your app active, it shows that you are actively interested in interviewing.
