CFI Program at Aerosim?

Well lets see, I did all the studying and written exams on my own and rented an Arrow dual for about ten hours before my check ride plus examiner fees (highway robbery) so that adds up to be .... MUCH CHEAPER THAN $11,000 !!!

You mentioned SR20: Does that include the insurance required "I'll only pull the chute when absolutely necessary" Cirrus required training?

Agreed, I was an exception to this, it was $2499 and I left with a 1.2 hour credit on my account. But I was also a 1300 hr pilot and very proficient when I started with them.

That said everyone else in my class spent waaaay more than me closer to $3000-$3500and 3 never became CFIs because the DPA FSDO failed them so many times they gave up. I got all my endorsements there and went home for the check rides. 1st time pass on both rides
Either way 11k is crazy

What year was this? Anyway, you're lucky, good job on being able to pass your CFI with flying colors. What do you do nowadays - do you still instruct or are you already flying bigger and faster planes?
 
Flight Training Professionals quoted me for the CFI-A: estimated 40 hours of ground @ 63$/hr, 20 hours in the 172 (Dual) @ $178/hr and 5 hours in the arrow (Dual) @ $228/hr...GRAND TOTAL OF $6,974 This FBO Is based out of Orlando Executive. MAN compared to prices in Miami thats on the mid high side. I will NOT pay 11k for this Cert.

I'm still instructing, started a small school here in MI with a 150,
Been ferrying for years, that's all but dried up now, im guessing because of all the airline guys with free travel and hour hungry kids cutting everyone else out, so im looking for a 135 gig
Michigan economy is a little rough right now.

Have yet to find a better deal for the CFI-A and the CFI-I than American Flyers in Santa Monica. $3495 for both ratings on their 172RG. Granted, it does not include examiner fees or the written tests, but it'll still put you at right around under $6k for both ratings, and this is southern california...

Yea well that have American Flyers here in Florida and I was really considering it but unfortunately they are not under my financial institutions list of schools. So I'm forced to go with Flight Training Professionals. Air Orlando/Traxair is to expensive.

WOW!! Where was this at aerosim? What FSDO/DPA did this? Did the cfi canidates deserve thier failings? I notice you went back home to do your checkrides. Was it that bad? I ask cause I have a young lady that's is contemplating going for her cfi and she has heard horror stories of out of control fsdo's and dpa failing people over truly stupid stuff- like one guy forgetting to remove chocks from the airplane and being busted for it. I hope what you just described wasn't in the Orlando FSDO area. If it was, any good fsdo that folks recommend that I can point her to? Not easy, but fair and color/ gender blindness would be good too.

It was at American Flyers DuPage
I can't speak for other FSDO areas but the one at DuPage I personally saw several fails for absolute nonsense reasons. It was after watching crazy stupid fails that I decided to take my endorsements home and do my rides.
It cost me a little more finding a complex locally to do my ride but worth it!

American flyers was a good academy, room for improvement sure, but for the $ I was very satisfied with what I got

Nope not WIA but I'm just going to do my CFI and flight training professionals in Orlando fl. Price is kinda steep but I've heard they passing rate is 100% so hopefully they prove that to me. Freak it.
 
Currently attending the CFI academy with Flyers here in KPMP. It can be rough at times, but overall the program is great in regards to the structure and depth of knowledge that they impart unto their students. Checkrides are slowly creeping up, though. Hopefully it will all pay off.
 
Colorado Contrails in Fort Collins,Colorado. Can't beat it came in $1500 under budget, I can even put you in contact with a much nicer place to stay than the long term hotel there.
