I'm trying to figure out how to make this work for me.

Can you tell me what the Hugo schedule is? Days and times.

You start Monday nights at 1830 report.

hhw-mlc-tul 1923-2040 m-f nights
tul-mlc-tul 0703-0825 t-f mornings

on saturday mornings you will make another stop in ardmore
tul-mlc-1F0-hhw 0732-0949 (last leg is pt 91 repo)

You are off from Sat morning through Monday night and all day during the week in Hugo.

I've personally flown the route many times and its pretty lax really, the freight loads are moderate and the legs are relatively short. Hugo is well about as small town Oklahoma as it gets though there is a casino near and Paris TX is not far at all with many options including colleges. Living in Paris TX I'd say is not out of the question.

Do this and then get a job as a leg breaker at the casino in Hugo during the day. Crash in TUL and be home on weekends. Sounds workable.

The VCT base would have been great for me several months ago when I was looking to leave my previous job. Martinaire only had Lansing, MI available though at the time which was a deal breaker.

I flew the Hugo run for a year while living in Tulsa. I would leave the house at 4pm on Monday to make the 6:20 report time. Fly back to Tulsa through Mcalester with the freight, and back in the house by 9:30 at night. Leave the house Tuesday am at 5:30, be in Hugo by 8:30 and sit all day. Rinse and repeat all week until Saturday. Finish the week with the plane back in Hugo and drive home to Tulsa. Usually pulling into my driveway around noon. For me the key was having two cars to make it work, one that I would drive back and forth to Hugo and another to get to the Tulsa airport and back home.

I did get so bored sitting at the FBO in Hugo after about 6 months that I went and got a job at the local Pizza Hut making pies. Not glamorous but it paid for my gas money and got me off my ass.

Overall I really enjoyed my time at Martinaire, the CP is great to work with. Just show up and do your job and for the most part they leave you alone.

PM me if you need more info

I think for Hugo the more normal is more akin to what Gearpuller did than actually living in Hugo full time. In the last few years its seemed most were either from Tulsa or general Oklahoma area and made it work for them.

Good luck! I'm pretty sure there is not a whole lot of competition for that particular route and being local is a definite plus. Keep us posted.

What is the pay? I have caravan experience and part 135 as well...how many hrs per month do you fly, is there a contract, if so for how long? Thank you..

MRA is one of the lowest paying 208 operators in the industry.

40-60 hours on most runs, GUY will be closer to 70.

12 month training contract.

Sounds interesting bt like a lot of the cargo stuff I just can not imagine spending so much time away from home while you aren't flying or even working.

I spend about 15 hours a day away from home, besides pay that's about the biggest down draw I have at the moment. I do go home every day and have weekends off which I didn't have before so I try my best to enjoy the good aspects. Reading about friends commuting to Cleveland and Newark weekly and I cringe.
