While it may not have been their intention, it sounds like it could have been prevented by a little more oversight.

As of this week, some recalls have happened...about 50. The aircraft are in position awaiting the FAA approval for return to service after conformity checks being completed around the country. However, none of the 50 are actually flying with the exception of somne ferry flights, FAA has not yet released any planes (as of oh dark thirty this morning)...so we are hoping....
Once the recall process really gets swinging, if it does, we don't know how many planes will actually make it back based on pax demand, furthermaore, some of us in the bottom 3rd of the seniority list may never get called back. Too soon to say...

Heres to hoping for you and others. That's the tough part, getting the PAX back paying...
 
So what caused the grounding was....the pilots not catching a missing elevator? Um what about the factors that lead to said elevator FALLING OFF? They say their maintenance is top notch, yet they've made a bunch of management changes? And what's this higher standard of operation stuff? Isn't 91k fractional basically the same as 135? Sounds like desperation to me. I wish the best for all out of work, but not at the expense of safety and integrity.

Reading that sounds like a desperation attempt to keep owners flying with them by trying to spin off the grounding as them just trying to be the safest operator out there and saying everyone's fleet gets grounded eventually. I hope the owners see right through this. I have no ill wishes for the pilots there and don't want to see anyone on the street but I hope the owners demand much higher standards and money back for the inconvenience of the grounding.
 
Insider unofficial scuttlebutt....As of COB today there are approximately 90 pilots back to work and 15 planes flying...with the expectation of doubling that number for the holidays....

The company has been gracious enough to continue to pay everyones benefits, both company share and employee share, for nov and dec. No paycheck but at least when my kids need a doctor I'm good.

I sit in the bottom 25% of the list...
 
I heard 2 Avantair flights come into my airport a couple days ago. KDPA . Wonder if they're back in business.
