Sorry to say but that's not the proper way to retire a flag.:p

Really, because I think this says otherwise.

US Flag Code. TITLE 4 > CHAPTER 1 > Sec. 8(k). It states:
"The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning"

Did a little flying around Colorado/Utah... Sorry for the cell phone pics..

Overnight in Vernal and went to Moab the next day. Wish the pictures would have turned out, but it was still dark. Absolutely beautiful out there, much different than the MSP flying!

I think it should be burned in a ceremony when retired, cutting it up into small pieces is mutilation. But it's just my opinion and there's no "official" way.

Yes there are ceremonies that scouts do for flag retirement.

Been to both Vernal and Moab. Canyonlands winds that battle hands down :)

Agreed! Crap cell phone camera just wouldn't produce the pics... It was my first time flying in there... Came in from the north, landed on 21. It was my leg and the captain said, "you can't see the mountains, but they are there, so keep it tight!" haha
