CLASSIFIED TOP SECRET - CIA Ops endangering commercial flights

Qutch

Question everything
Well, here's an interesting little Classified news story that the US Media discovered, then tried to quietly bury to avoid an embarrassing National Security scandal. But then, since these schemes appear to have been orchestrated by the CIA, the media may also have thought them too complicated or scary for the average person to grasp. Complicated and scary they are. There are always some people who don't want to hear this type of story and become very upset. Still, I thought there might be a handful of pilots on JC who may be interested in seeing the creative uses the Intelligence Community is finding for commercial passenger aircraft.

Exposed - Covert Operations endangering commercial flights

From time to time since the 1960s, US intelligence agencies have proposed and run covert operations (some very dangerous) involving US commercial passenger aircraft. One of the best known is the now declassified Operation Northwoods. The US media has, in the past, uncovered these Ops, but chose to assist intelligence agencies by running disinformation campaigns designed to conceal or disguise these Ops under elaborate cover stories. These days, these disinformation campaigns are being used to form the foundation of TSA's legitimacy. They are also used to justify TSA policies, procedures and increasing budgets, as well as justify various legislative proposals to increase domestic surveillance.

Although most of these covert operations remain Classified (Classified as "too embarrassing to admit they happened"), it is possible to identify them (legally) using snippets of publicly available information. The CIA's Delta-NW Flight 253 Operation was a classic example.

It seems we've been Punked.

.
Delta-NW Flight 253: On December 25, 2009, the United States Government announced that a terrorist attack, planned and carried out by Al Qaida (AQAP), had been launched against Delta-NW Flight 253, Amsterdam to Detroit. That story grew and grew into one of the foundation blocks of TSA's legitimacy. The story has been repeated over and over again, by both Gov't and the media, to justify TSA policies, procedures and budgets. The Flight-253 Covert Operation (aka Underwear Bomber, version 1.0) has been gold for the TSA.

But was the story they told about the attack on Flight-253 true? Or, like the fabricated Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch hero stories, was Flight-253 a marketing scheme designed to further the "War in Terror?" The President of the United States said the story was true. The US media confirmed the story's accuracy.

However, rarely seen evidence clearly proves that the story is untrue, and that this terrorist attack on a US aircraft was, in whole, or in part, facilitated by the US Government itself. The US Government has now quietly confessed to aiding the terrorist and fabricating the story, telling Congress they did it "by accident". Skeptics however, insist it was a premeditated staged attack and False Flag Operation. Either way, both sides now at least agree that the original Official Story was a lie, and that the Gov't itself helped facilitate the attack on Flight 253. Amazingly however, both Gov't spokesmen and the US media continue to repeat the original discredited story to the general public, so that's the story most people know. In fact, incomprehensively, the largely fabricated Official Story has been marketed as one of the strongest arguments for expanding TSA & Police State powers.

Repeat: The largely fabricated Official Story has been marketed as one of the strongest arguments for expanding TSA & Police State powers.

The Official Government Story (version 1 - now discredited) - The heart of this particular fabricated news story was that a suicide bomber (Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab), who was a known security risk, had somehow slipped past careless Dutch/Israeli Airport Security officials and boarded the plane. Abdulmutallab paid cash for his ticket and boarded without a Passport, then triggered an explosive device sewn into his underwear as the aircraft approached Detroit. The US State Department had issued a Visa to the terrorist, and claimed that it failed to revoke it because the CIA had failed to notify them of intelligence information they had gathered on Abdulmutallab. (Actually, they came up with a whole list of excuses for failing to revoke his visa and keep him off the airplane.)

In the first days following the attack, the US Gov't told an elaborate story of innocent miscommunication errors and bureaucratic confusion that missed clues to the bomber's terrorist connections, and failed to red-flag him at the Dutch boarding gate. As usual, most of the US media went along with the unlikely story without question, a story supplied mostly by anonymous Officials. And as usual, most of the US population believed the story, without questioning it. Parading politicians and talking-head TV experts called for larger TSA budgets and increased airport security. Calls went out for US military intervention in Yemen (the alleged training ground of the terrorist). Contracts were issued for more airport scanners and predator drones. Money flowed. Stock prices in firms providing airport scanners and weaponry soared.

Here's Official Story #1, and the story most Americans still believe

.
But the story US Officials told was a lie. The next few posts will tell the story of what really happened on Flight 253, efforts by the US Government and media to conceal the events of that day and to construct an elaborate phony cover story which served to justify TSA policies, procedures and budgets.

The Government's Story starts to fall apart

A confused media scrambled to try and figure out what was going on in the first hours after the attack, conducting passenger interviews that seemed to contradict the Official Story.

This US Intelligence Operation ran off the rails when alert passengers began to tell their stories to enterprising reporters. To simplify this explanation, I'm going to focus on one particular passenger, former US Gov't attorney Kurt Haskell. Haskell soon became one of a number of problems the Gov't encountered in concealing this covert operation. Haskell told reporters that Abdulmutallab had not been alone when boarding. He had an accomplice. Even worse, Haskell insisted that the Dutch boarding agent had refused Abdulmutallab the right to board because he had no passport. Haskell observed that a very well dressed man with an American accent (dark skinned, tan suit, perhaps of Indian descent) intervened and tried to pressure the Dutch boarding agent to let Abdulmutallab board without a passport. The well dressed man argued "we do this all the time." But the boarding agent refused to budge and referred the man to a supervisor elsewhere in the terminal. In the end, somehow the well dressed man managed to pressure Dutch/Israeli Security into letting Abdulmutallab on the plane.

These are the interviews that raised embarrassing questions for the US Gov't.

.

.
Reporters from everywhere began efforts to identify Abdulmutallab's accomplice and obtain airport surveillance photos from Schiphol Airport's modern terminal. Haskell insisted that the photos/video would show Abdulmutallab, the well dressed accomplice, and Haskell himself, together in the boarding area. As the days wore on Haskell privately wondered why US Officials were denying his claim of "the well dressed Abdulmutallab accomplice". As reporters continued to interview him, Haskell began to wonder out loud during those interviews why Officials were publically denying his accomplice-story, and refusing his offer to identify the Abdulmutallab accomplice from the airport photos.

Fox News/Kurt Haskell - "Show the world the airport video and I'll prove it."

International and local Detroit media vs. US National Media

After a few weeks, the National media lost interest in the passenger accounts and got in line with the Govt's Official version of the story (a version which did not include an accomplice). Those interviews, the search for the airport security video and the bomber's accomplice, as well as skeptical questions about the Govt's story...... all that stopped. But the international and Detroit press were not as cooperative with the Gov't. They joined Haskell and other passengers in continuing to ask the unanswered questions.

.
Local Detroit Fox Affiliate - "An intentionally defective bomb." "The US Government created the scare in the air to further the war on terror."

.
Local Detroit Fox Affiliate - "The US Government was behind the whole thing....it was the US Government that escorted him through Airport Security."

.
RT - "A US Cover Story....Abdulmutallab was a protected patsy in a staged intelligence operation."

.
Note: This is a common pattern I find in media reports. The national media will lose interest in a story, or jump into bed with the Gov't version of a story after a few days. However, the local media in the city where the event occurred (driven by intense local interest), and the international press, will not follow the Federal Gov't line and will instead keep asking questions and uncovering new material.

It's pretty interesting to hear this kind of stuff. It doesn't surprise me one bit that the story would be fabricated though. I just watched a documentary about the TSA tonight on Netflix called please remove your shoes. It tells the story of the growth and failure of the TSA through the eyes of a few air Marshall's who were told to keep quiet. Now retired, they have made this film to tell people about the widespread corruption in the agency. Funny part is they did mention this incident in detail and how they were again told to keep quiet about the details of hat really happened.

One of the problems with creating bureaucracy is being able to sustain or grow it, and by extent, continue to fund it. In order to do that it needs continued, or increased, reason to exist.

Let's keep it civil...

You're free to agree or disagree with what the OP says, but he presented his original post with no attacks against any user here. You don't have to agree with what he says, but let's keep the discussion civil please.

Sorry

Sorry about the long OP. It's a complex story. And getting more complex everyday.

It's also a crazy sounding accusation....granted. The burden is on me to back up the accusation as best as I am able, difficult to do given the murky details and lack of disclosure that covert ops and the CIA are known for. Hence the long OP and attention to detail.

Polite challenges are welcome as per MQAAord. I'll do the best I can to back up the claims made here regarding Flight 253. I believe I can back most of this up if viewers will take some time and give the material I post here a fair look.

Sounds plausible. Very well laid out post(s), with supporting facts and evidence. Qutch is an investigative reporter, but even better than the ones on TV because he's not tied to the mainstream media which reports 90% crap. This is his audience. Well done, and thank you Qutch for continuing to bring the ongoing shenanigans of our government to light.

Thanks for posting an interesting point of view. It would not surprise me that the government would fabricate something to assist in gaining support both financially and politically.
Mike

Why is it so far fetched that there's terrorists out there that want to hurt us for a multitude of reasons and that some of them aren't all that bright?
