A minty fresh CFI in pursuit of a good instructing gig...

I currently have 500 TT and 350 ME. I just got my CFI, CFII and MEI tickets. I am ready to let my students kill me but would much prefer to do it in a busy training environment with plenty of aircraft. I am highly interested in working in FL, GA, TX or CA. Anyone know of any good leads?

It would be great if the instructing job would help reinforce my passion for aviation so I am not just looking to build hours but to experience flying at another level.

I know you're "minty fresh", but this would be interesting

Trying to get paid to fly actually kills your passion for aviation when you realize that most of your superiors will be looking to take advantage of you at every opportunity. Remember this post in 10 years. Good luck!

OMG, DO NOT GO. One of the worst instructing jobs of my life. Although, they did raise the pay I see, after they realized that 30k wasn't gonna cut it, which is what they were paying when I worked there. All of the 3 American instructors who started there (including me) left within 8 months. Now, from what I've heard from the other suckers they got to work there, they're requiring a $5,000 departure fee should you choose to break your contract prior to 1 year. Yep, a training contract for a flight school. Imagine that. This industry blows so hard.

Someone posted about University Air Center in KGNV. I highly recommend going there. It's gainesville florida, you can easily share an apt with students and spend less than 300 buckaronis a month on rent+utils....

You can live in Gville for less than 1000 dollars EASILY without feeling like you're being frugal

take it from someone who lived in gville for 4 years

There are PLENTY of those kinds of girls around town. they may not all be in aviation, but the ones at UAC are definitely easy on the eyes ;)
