what Pinnacle management is asking for...

Just came through in an email from the MEC

The term sheet details specific items such as deep amendments to work rules: elimination of the minimum day, management option to cap all pilot line awards at 75 hours, a reduction in per diem, 10 days off for reserve pilots, relief on maximum line ranges, the virtual elimination of premium pay and open time; significant reductions in our benefits: more expensive and less favorable health insurance, the elimination of ESL, premium sharing for loss of license and LTD, and greatly reduced 401(k) matches; and decreased pay rates for all pilots: 5.8% reduction in for all Captains and CRJ900 FOs and 2.0% for all other FOs (which results in a combined rate for FOs), and no across-the-board rate increases until 1/1/2014

Just remember that Delta is the one who strangled this airline into BK. they are the ones who wouldn't agree to a long term Q400 deal with United and withheld $30 million in owed monies to the Corp.

Wow worse that the previous bankruptcy contract at Mesaba 7 years ago. Are they that stupid. What's Menke's email address so I know where to send the picture of my ass? The pay is of least concern the min day and work rules are more important. Not to mention we already gave days off up in the last bankruptcy to be at 11. Torch the place!!

No.. Pinnacle/Colgan got themselves into this situation with their lowball bids. Fortunately it has caught up with them.

No.. Delta was witholding monies owed. Add into that an unprofitabLe Q deal.

How can you say fortunately? 500 pilots are going to be on the street.

I hope y'all tell them to go pound sand. I would say those bonuses offered would cover most of that...tell them to start there. Good luck guys, wish you all the best!

I cannot wait to do a 4 day trip worth 12 hours, at 2% less pay and McDonalds per diem.

Fly safe guys. This frustrates the hell out of me and I don't even work there.

But please tell them to get bent. I really don't understand how they expect you guys to make sacrifices to keep the company running. If it was a company that really looked out for its employees and paid a liveable wage even after concessions it would be one thing. But the reason all of us have jobs is to support ourselves and our families. Not because our lifelong goal was to donate money to a business that would screw us every chance they get.

I hope the pilot union tells them to screw off. Those concessions sound horrible!

Our department at Pinnacle got the axe yesterday, so no more 9E ground operations at DTW (or many other stations/hubs). If you're waiting for commissary, don't count on RE to show up on time. We're out 07JUN, probably sooner if they find someone willing to do it for free.

I don't work there, but...

As most of you know, this term sheet is a bargaining position. Their initial offer. The final result will not look like this. Concessions will be given but nothing so drastic as this term sheet.

The problem is that I'm finding it hard to see where the deal is. With such draconian proposals, they aren't exactly signaling where the middle ground might be found. Their proposals are such non-starters that I don't really know where I would start to bargain.

Re-read "Sean's" last letter. It said Delta wasn't willing to work with Pinnacle on contract concessions outside of bankruptcy. Even if we had agreed to a wage concession that would have fixed the Q400 bids, we would have still had to go into bankruptcy to even get Delta to talk to us.

I'll give you that the low bids were an issue, but if that were it, why not just declare bankruptcy on Colgan as a subsidiary and be done with it?

I would say "fortunately," either. PinnPro guys are all out of jobs now. Non-union people are getting the shaft royally (that was announced this week, too). And we're looking at a long, uphill battle just to stay slightly south of industry average. We'd go back to being one of the few regionals without a min day with lower pay and crappier benefits. Skywest does the same job we do and they'll be pointing and laughing at this. If our management team is really so inept they need these kinds of cuts just to stay profitable, I think it's the wrong people taking cuts and being shown the door. If we're LUCKY Republic or Skywest will buy us.....

and considering Sean Menke's apparent style of putting his final offer on the table at the beginning, i'm not sure either. good luck to us all.
