Proposed 7% paycut now for Pinncollaba

Has anybody calculated what 7% from the pilots would save the company? I'm wondering how it compares to the $250,000 they said they saved in one month ($3,000,000/year) from the APU memo. It seems like $2.2 million was a number I heard when they were still asking 5%.

I would think the savings realized from penny pinching APU usage would be a pretty good barganing chip for any agreement they might come up with for us to vote on.

Obviously the more important question is, when will they finally put a memo out to the ground crews about hooking up air?
Yeah... but to send out memo's they need another VP. A VP of Memo's.

It's about a car payment for me. So, it's about $5000 over the year based off guarantee alone. I'm not even close to topped out. Guys that are in the sims doing checkrides on 100 hour buy out that pick up trips would net the money a HUGE chunk of change on a 7% cut. If we NEED to save that much, we should probably go bankrupt to fix every thing that's so horribly wrong.

As an FO, I stand to lose about $150-200ish a month. Take the top figure of 200 a month, overestimate the number of FOs at say half the senority list (~3000, so 1500 FOs), take that for a full 12 months and you get somewhere in the neighborhood of $3.6 million.

$3+ million just from the FOs. Throw the captains / check airmen in there and you could be looking at a figure in the $7-9 million range for the year.

$7-9m definitely sounds more realistic than $2.2m. Guess we just have to wait and see what they throw before us.

You too? Awesome! Jet Blue?

Yep. No news on when the class date will be. Like I said in the other thread, hiring has been scaled WAAAAY back for this year. They were planning on about 250 for the year, and now they're saying it'll be more like 60-70.

Eh, F it. You guys deal. I just got a "You're in the pool e-mail." :)

That's an excellent feeling, isn't it?!? Having recently submitted my resignation, I spent some time yesterday boxing up my manuals so I can mail them back. Very Nice!
Good luck to you on getting a class sooner, rather than later....I know there's a couple guys over on this side of the house waiting to hear back from Big Blue as well.

Awesome for you too! Where are you headed?

Thanks! Hopefully you're not far behind us!!! Spirit, I start class on the 6th. Very psyched, to say the least.
We had a couple of guys from the 9E side go over to Spirit. One of the guys I went through initial with is in class right now. Congrats. Looks like they're going to be a growing operation, too.
