Saying goodbye to passengers

To the OP, you flying with this character who so greatly annoys you with his lack of real wit or social skills? Or, was this a rare occasion where you were DH'ing and heard the horrible person say such ridiculous things?

The things we as pilots get wrapped around about. lol

I think it has to do with where they're sitting. Feels fine up front, but everyone near the 4 doors thinks you were in the Navy. :)

I remember a flight attendant used to say "watch your head, we want you to see stars but not that kind" when entering the Alice in wonderland e145 door. You hear this to just about every male passenger and by day 4 you making a noose out of the escape rope .
 
Oh you think that's bad.. Give me your email. I'll send you a sound clip of one of our uberstars......
 
I generally acknowledge the good comments by saying "thank you, I really appreciate that, have a nice day" with a smile or something along those lines.

I generally find that the older generation makes a comment for whatever reason. I always go out of my way to be friendly to senior passengers because I think travel can be especially stressful for them.
 
As a pax, I don't bother making a compliment or criticism of the landing, takeoff, etc as I'm deplaning; I simply thank the crew for the ride and wish them a nice day/nice rest of their trip. Seems simple enough.
 
I usually stand by waiting for girls to hand me their number...still waiting.
 
I like to say bye as often as possible. As a passenger I always thought it was a nice touch when one or both of the pilots did it and I like doing so as a pilot now. I did fly with a Captain who would greet passengers at the bottom of the stairs if he had the time while they were boarding. I thought it was different, but a classy move and I'd like to do the same if the situation allows.

It's not because I think it's Chuck Yeager, it's the first thing I could think of because my mind is completely set on running full steam into the first break in the crowd to the bathroom in first class because it was a 110 knot headwind to SLC and I just had to have that coffee AND the whole bottle of water on the way over. Saying "Please move off the plane quickly or I'm going to piddle on the floor" doesn't have the same ring to it!

This never happened on the turboprops.

Well maybe one time with Scott when we did that stupid Hot Springs to Hyannis trip because our entire CJC mx department can't count past ten collectively. There were no pax though.
