Realignment Round 2 at 9E

I'm sort of bummed I'm not going to be flying the Saab anymore, but I'll take the pay increase any day. I only got to fly it for two months.
Question though, if I don't get the 100 hours of Saab time in 120 days for consolidation of knowledge and then my displacement puts me in class for the CRJ, do I lose my SIC type in the Saab?

-Matt

I am trying to think what, if anything, is the value of a SIC type??

I mean, I just never seen anything that says "How many SIC types do you have?"

You don't lose your sic type (whatever that's worth) you just won't be a qualified crewmember on the saab

This. Just like getting your 737 type from Higher Power isn't negated if you don't fly a 737 for a decade afterwards. However, and SIC type, like others have alluded to, isn't worth a whole lot.

Tell a girl who has no clue about aviation you have a SIC TYPE and you are golden baby. Golden.

Epaulettes to Walmart? Yes sir!
Epaulettes to the movies on a Friday night? Ohh yeeeaaaahhh..

and by ohh yeaahh i mean...

Question: In between the initial award and closing, arent there usually updated awards that reflect changes because of people withdrawing? Havent seen any.

Not since we merged into one group. I know that's how we used to do it at 9L. I kept telling people not to put fake bids in "just to see" then get screwed with getting something you don't actually want.

We only have the initial and the final with only one opportunity to withdrawl this time because of the compressed timeline and the sheer magnitude. It would take the goofballs in "manpower planning" three months just to come out with a final if they made multiple revisions to it.

First part is correct, but not because of the "compressed timeline". It's because that's what was negotiated in the contract and it will be like this for at least the next 5 years. Also, there is nothing compressed about this award timeline. It's strung out like a crack junkie on payday, but for understandable reasons.

I wonder if we're going to get new vendors for our software. It's been one software glitch after another since Feb of this year. AFAIK, the pay STILL isn't set up correctly and needs to be done by hand. Hold on, let me check.....yep, still waiting for the payroll team to go back and give my the extra 45 minutes I overblocked on several legs last week. 4 hour min day still needs to be corrected by hand as well. This was supposed to be done last month. It's gonna be 2012, and these issues still won't be fixed. The company, however, will just still keep giving the software vendors more time as they are the cheapest around, apparently. I'm not holding my breathe on the computer issues that brought about the lengthy delays on 11-09 being corrected anytime soon. The company will just bank on hopefully not having to do a realignment like that again rather than actually address the problem. Now that Wychor of the "Our Union Wouldn't Stand For That" tribe is in charge, we'll see if we just get more extensions in the future or something gets done.....

Obviously I'm on the XJ side but my stuff i right most times, and when it's not I send a payroll discrepancy. I double check by hand and it's ~$400 so far this year (including the -20 they paid me extra because they were lazy during a manual correction), it's always corrected in a timely fashion.

Is our payroll still different people?

Still separate.

Mine is right by the time I get paid 99% of the time, which is okay, but it's not the way it's supposed to work contractually. If Janice ever quits, things will go to hell in a handbasket very quickly on the payroll side.

Very quickly doesn't cover it.

It will be the second she leaves!

Yeah I'm sure you've got a point on that. While we've had a fairly strong compliance on the contract with so many things at this company the accounting always has been frustrating. Perhaps I've just become too used to watching my crewtrac every trip and forgotten this process is suppose to be correct the first time every time.

We've gotta press the reps again I'm afraid.
