Pimpin' the Deuce Stroller

*For any of you who are friends with me on Facebook - PLEASE don't mention this as we we haven't announced it to anyone but close family, but ...

We found out this morning that my wife is pregnant with twins. Some of you know the story, but I'll give you the short version - we both suffered from infertility issues (seems Pullup was right all along about the spandex!). We had looked first at adoption but came to learn how difficult, time consuming, and costly it was. So we opted to try IVF once. Our insurance didn't cover it so we had to pay out of pocket.

Naturally we were worried that it wouldn't work, but fortunately my wife is young (32) and everything went really well (except for her ovaries getting enlarged and the pain associated with that). They put two eggs in and we really didn't have a preference for one or two. Nurse asked us this morning "will two be OK because that's what you got". I never understood when people talked about the feeling of becoming a father, but I gotta admit it was pretty overwhelming.

It's still very early - she's only 7-weeks in, and we still have a long way to go, but I wanted to share it with someone. Will post updates along the way. Makes me feel better about selling my Skyhawk anyways :)

PS - It's absolutely amazing when they put the sonogram over the quarter inch fetuses and you could hear the heart beats. Blows.My.Mind!

Congratulations, Murdoughnut!

My younger brother and sister are twins. I remember my parents saying how it was a bit of a surprise...they had me three years earlier and thought "let's have one more."

You need to get a funny hat or something like what my dad had when they were born in 1987 that still hangs over his workbench in the garage today.

It said "Father of twins. Which way did they go???" and had two brims facing a little left and right.

And, they'll always have someone to play with in the younger years.

Congrats - but where is the pix of the "Pimped Out" Stroller?

I was expecting to see this double wide with chrome spinners, hi performance airshocks to make it bounce up and down, 5000 watt audio system with a 24" sub and some dingle balls and fuzzy dice!!!!

Thanks guys! I'm working on designs of the stroller now. A buddy of mine painted his triathlon bike in an old army air corps scheme - wondering if he can do the same with a stroller

Congrats! When we both get big and fat we should get together sometime. We may end up having them fairly close together.

Doughnut, I done told ya that spandex will kill the fishes!

:)

Congratulations, it's a moment that you can never understand until it happens to you (being a father). Having twins will suck for the first year but having a partner for each other will be a huge blessing.

Enjoy EVERY moment because it really really does go by too fast.

I knew before all you bitches! Well, not the twins part, but about her being pregnant.

Congrats Kenneth.

You the donor?

Congrats word to the wise go with in line double, not the double wide. They barely make isles and halls navigable for single strollers.

Ha! Actually he was here in Tampa on my birthday and I didn't want him to think my wife was a prude for not drinking.

Funny, just today I found myself trying to figure out which of the double strollers would work better. I think you solved the debate for me.

Thanks brotha - we're really excited. We knew she was pregnant a couple weeks ago, but today was the first time actually seeing them on screen so it really started to set in. Will keep ya posted.

Congrats man. I've got a 7 week old and can tell you now........ SLEEP ALL YOU CAN NOW. haha, it's awesome but tiring. Oh and when the time comes, I highly recommend watching the birth(s). It truly is a miracle when they come out and just start breathing like they knew exactly what to do. Congrats again.
