Do you have any idea if they are getting rid of the university themed livery?

No, they are not. The last college theme was delivered before this aircraft, N440QX is the Oregon State Beavers plane. N441QX (one above) is the first to wear the "new look".

The college aircraft will be brought in to change the "HORIZON" on the sides to "ALASKA Horizon" on the side.

Are they going to get rid of that ugly confetti looking plane?...

The "Clown Car"?...I hope so, they need to get rid of that airplane period. 424QX and 425QX (Clown Car) are ones that Horizon got from China...and they SUCK! Awful airplanes and I hated them with a passion.

They started repainting the earlier Q4's...400 became Idaho Vandals...etc.

Do you just mean in terms of quality?

Horizon got those 2 Q4's at half off, so between the two of them we could have gotten a new one. They were early SN builds...they were pretty poorly maintained (cut wires in the wings) and the crews had used the "rating" power wayyyy to much. Rating power gives you 125% power for 30 seconds, they used it quite frequently from what I've been told.

They had single FMS', different galley configs, no HUD's...etc.

When I worked on the ground we used to call it sh ttles because the lav always dumped all over the ramp! And since Seattle seemed to be the only station to do lavs it really dumped a lot!

Sad indeed! Do you know how many line MX guys are they leaving at PDX? I guess that's the only chance I have to work for them when I get back to Portland. Although I highly doubt that they're going to hire a freshly certificated A&P to work in line maintenance.
