daily pic

Thats nuts man!!! How much runway did he use? I know EWR was getting 65knt gusts at some points during the day

Aww hell, the performance numbers I have for the 757 say you can get it down and stopped in about 4300 feet with a 30 knot headwind and Autobrakes 3. That even includes 1000' of air distance and crossing over the threshold at 50'. Not too shabby!

That reminds me, we had some extra time after my PC in the 767 sim a few weeks back, so we ended up doing a Flaps 1 landing on 4R in JFK (8500-ish feet) at about 300,000 lbs. The QRH says you can get that sucker stopped in 4700 feet with max manual braking, and by god, I got it stopped in 4700 feet. :D Would have melted the brakes to the runway and started a fire, but those are just details. :) 187 knot target speed on final, sucka!

The way we were angled I couldn't see the rest of the runway but I seem to recall hearing that he exited at kilo, which is about 5000 feet down field.

Here's the second picture I took of him going by.

Have to admit, I'm pretty impressed with the iphone4's picture quality.

I'm new to photography, so I've been really working on basic composition. Went out to downtown this morning to take some shots. Unfortunately it clouded up before I got out there (sun was shining really nicely when I first got up).

A few from the nastiness that was the east coast yesterday.

Note the windsock blowing the wrong way to be landing down the river... the next two guys went around, a mainline Airbus PLANTED it and bounced a few times, and then everybody else went to the other runway

You know it's windy out when the 757s are landing at 17 in PHL.

I've seen SWA land 737s but never a 757

Played around with HDR this weekend. They still need a bit of work, but I thought they looked cool.

Nice! Very tasteful. I also played with a little HDR, too (same pic as I posted above):

I'm really trying to bring out the extra details without making it look fake. Usually not a big fan of HDR because of that, but I think if it's done right (I'm working on it), it could really complement the right photo.

...and here comes gne to show us all up. ;)

Seriously, great shot. Did you do any processing to it?

Thanks. Ya HDR is fun to mess around with
