Delta firms up plans to install Wi-fi on regional jets

Looks like the Brasilia, but I'll bet the V1 cut is much easier ;)

Nothing says "modern avionics" like a red tail DC-9.

I found the V1 cuts on the -9 (sim anyway) to be pretty tame. Your left hand gets tired from all the trim but it wasn't a big deal. To be honest I like the manual rudder trim on the -9 more than the electric trim knob on the E-145.

Isn't the seat pitch on an RJ less than a larger plane? Just seems like trying to use a laptop would be a little tricky.
In most RJs that seat the max design capacity, yes. United Express has the first 6 rows of coach on CRJ-700 as "economy plus" which have a little more room than standard coach. Also Delta Connection carrier's -900s, since they can only have 76 but are built for 90, have very generous legroom. The Embraer 170s have a cabin wide enough that the seats are actually supposed to be more roomy and comfortable then coach on a mainline plane.

Sitting in a CRJ-200 feels like waiting in a crowded DMV.

Nothing says manhood like flying a DC-9-10, in January, MSP-FAR-MSP X3....

With the Captain making $195/hr. And FO making $120/hr. And a fully funded pension. And paid health care.

Sigh, I miss 2001.

zOMG you are a nerd! ;)

Comair's going all out! We're getting Wi-fi and ACARS!

I lol'ed :)

At least it would take 3 tries to get someone in ops at any station to finially answer the radio and take the times down.
Then again-with only the small # of 50 seaters actually getting the ACARS......i shouldnt care by then....probably would be long gone.

Just a pre-warning: don't even dream of using it while you're working.

Huggy Bear says word on the street is that some folks may have gotten busted being online when they were supposed to be flying.

Don't be that guy.

Because your internet friends will tease and speak ill of you.

(Any of you guys even know remember/know who Huggy Bear is? You know, Starsky and Hutch before Owen Wilson wrecked the franchise beyond repair?)

BTW, I flew with A Captain who was called in by the CP who told him "You are under investigation by the FAA for using a prohibited electronic device while airborne"

He says, Huh? How so?

"You checked your schedule in flight"

I don't even own a laptop, Terry.

"I'm just relaying the information"

Thanks, I'll call ALPA.

The short story is that he was rerouted, so when his wife called the hotel, he wasn't there. She checked his schedule to find out where he was. It happened to be while he was airborne.

That stuff is checked by the FAA in response to a certain overflying the airport incident.

As Mike Tomlin says, "Don't be the Guy"
