This guy better have life insurance!

That thing weighs 1750lbs! Shave some weight and it'll qualify as a light sport. Tell the feds "yeah, it meets the standards" and your done. Start selling them tomorrow.

The e-mail starts like this:

"Hello Mr. **********. I am an aircraft manufacturer from Kenya. I have enclosed a handsome settlement that I need your assistance in cashing..................................

Regards,
Excited aircraft manufacturer"

Ok...the machine is a POS...I think we agree.

Now, let's consider that this guy is like many of us - amazingly intrigued by airplanes - probably loves them. So, he goes and gathers whatever materials he can, cobbles together this contraption, and wants to fly. I'm actually kind of in awe of this guy. If I had bigger money I'd track him down, get him to the states and send him to A&P school and flying lessons.

Good for him!

Hear, hear!

I hope he goes 15 miles on a thimble full of corn oil!

They said the Wrights were crazy too.

I was just about the type the same thing.

This guy lives in some 3rd world country and can do this? That is very impressive. What have any of you done to build your own airplane from scratch? I know I wouldn't know where to start.

If he's successful when he flies it, then all the power to him! Building his own plane with no background in engineering or aviation? No easy task. Remember, the founder of Cessna did the same thing, built airplanes and taught himself to fly them as he crashed the first few.

If it works right, I'd fly it. I'm all for sketchy looking airplanes to put in the logbook. More stories to tell.

Please don't get me wrong...this thing will never fly. It looks as if it has negative dihedral, the airfoil looks "lumpy", and as Frank mentioned the prop is probably not the greatest thing. I just admire that the guy has a dream and did something about it while living in a third world nation.
