This is sorta the gist of what I got: we're still pushing for an interim contract for us that includes the signing bonus and wage increases. They can technically do this via LOAs on our current contract, I believe. Now, the question is, once the 45 days start on the combined contract, how much grunt work is gonna be put in on an interim deal? My guess....zero. All the negotiating committee people will be tied up. So, if we don't have an interim deal by the time the clock starts ticking on the 45 days, we're looking at at least 45 days until something else happens for us. At the end of that 45 days, if there's no deal, it'll depend on how things are going. If progress is good, they keep going. If it's not.....well, just stop me, because I KNOW you've heard this one before.....multiple times.
The good news for us is if we DO get a deal ratified by all three groups, 9E can implement it immediately. The reason they're going for an interim deal at Colgan is because it'll take longer since we'll have to work out SLI issues to bring those guys over to the new list. So, we could implement it immediately, but Colgan will still be hanging out for several months while SLI stuff gets worked out. They need something in the meantime. XJ is sitting okay since their current deal isn't amendable until next year.
Wanna get it done quickly? XJ's contract + our health care, and I'd jump on that deal myself.
