I think you're jumping to conclusions in assuming that the RC guy was the one at fault. For all we know, the runway could have been closed by notam for their event. Would like to know the details, though.

I didnt blame the RC operator, im just a little miffed at his attitude. Being more concerned about your toy than a real person is bad form, at best.
Sorry, I edited and reworded to come off as less of a butt head. I imagine had the Spitts taken a nose dive he probably would have been more concerned - but he probably had a lot of money invested in that thing.
