Im not just throwing out friends names on a random internet forum without their permission.
does und have a callsign? Zero November Delta for every plane in the air would get confusing real quick.
Hey Dugie, long time no talk. How's it going?
hmm, how do they assign flight numbers? We always did the callsign followed by the last three of the tail... but again, they'd all be the same.
I can't wait until some people in this thread and the other UND rain thread look back in a few at what they acted like and realize how immature and how misguided their know-it-all attitude is.
I know it's now becoming the cool thing to do to bag on collegiate aviation but if you can't follow SOPs while flying Archers around the middle of nowhere I'm not too confident you'll want to follow them in a turboprop in the northeast with a dozen crazies in the back. SOPs don't always make sense but you follow them unless there is a reason you believe they'll kill you. It'd probably benefit a few users in this thread to shut up and read and stop posting for a few days or years until they mature enough to realize if they are going to make a career out of this deal they'll ALWAYS have someone telling them how, when, and where they will fly.
I doubt you follow some SOPs, same goes for others
Mr I talk about random stuff during sterile cockpit operations

"Sioux" and the last 2 digits of the tail. 3-letter code is NDU.
Works great in principle unless you're flying a Warrior from the 4xx range whose C172 counterpart has taken over it's NDU code. In that case, you file and operate on the radios with the full tail number - like a "real" pilot![]()
I actually heard that UND is making the people flying the Warrior with the same callsign to use NDU53P or "Sioux Five Three Papa" I guess Papa is signifying it is a Piper.
Yes!!!!!!!!! Post of the year. Hahahahahahahaha. Thank for typing what everyone else wanted to say.YOU have never been in any cockpit of an aircraft I've been in command of so YOU should shut your face kid.
[modhat]no need to encourage him....just ignore or report.[/modhat]

I do believe breaking up the numbers and saying "Sioux Two Zero" instead of "Sioux Twenty" applies only to the Grand Forks area correct?
I've also attached a little memento for those of you who have left Grand Forks so you can remember the views you are missing! Can anyone guess what it is? lol![]()
