As a prior MOA Controller I agree. Why must you fly right into the .
Or better yet, check when they're in use or otherwise hot, and avoid them then. They're not always hot.
Problem is, because it's legal to fly through them, people will. So that being said, if people just can't avoid them (and I'm talking underneath even, not just around), then they REALLY need to have their head on a swivel and be vigilant with see and avoid.
I hear you man, but you'll always get those that feel that because it's legal to go tooling through the middle of them fat, dumb, and happy; then it's also smart to do so.

So then, if you don't like other people in the area, make them a restricted area. Really, if you really don't want us in there, restrict it, its not that hard. Everyone knows the rules of the game before it started. Its not like one side was told its a restricted area, and one side told it was just normal airspace.
Is it dumb to just bust off through a MOA, perhaps? Have I done it? Yes. At the minimum, I listen to approach/center for who is controlling the area.
Legal ≠ Safe & Smart...remember?
Your story because you were involved in it?
You have a story to tell??

As a controller yes.
