Welcome! A word of advice about standardization. I know many of you have learned to fly different ways. FSA wants you to teach their method. We produce all training manuals you will need for the airplane you will fly. You will learn the methods in standardization. To get through stands you will need to study the cadet training manual and memorize the checklists. Do this as early as possible. Don't wait until the night before your first stands flight to study. FSA standardization is not meant to get you to PTS standards. You should already be there. We teach you to fly/teach the FSA way. You can set up a "hours build" course with administration if you want to rent the plane to practice. I recommend that you do this in pairs and split the time, especially if you have never flown a piper. If you have any other questions feel free to PM. For the pre-employment written I've been refreshing myself with the gleim writtens (FOI etc). Is the written similar or is there a better course of action to look over?

I don't know for sure, as I never took it. It was only required for 'outside' hires. However, I have heard that it's fairly simple. Don't stress.
 
Hey guys. I was reading thru the Training Regs and was wondering. Do you guys still use paper 8710's or IACRA?

We use IACRA. We have a process for the 141 students. An administrator basically puts all the stuff together for you. It's really very easy. With part 61 applicants you have to digitally sign the app yourself.
 
You should of seek the looks of shock and horror when some of the class found out that the cadets dont have a gps. lol. One guy said "Ive never flown a plane without a gps onboard" :)
 
They're utilizing the check instructors to assist with standardization.

Better study up :)
