Naw, but I may copy Dough and get me a 335...... :laff:
I am pleased to announce that MJG407 has been promoted to Director of Flight Operations at Aero Union Corporation.
Congratulations Michael, I am proud to be associated with you.:king:
Well...now that the "cat is out of the bag" so to speak, I don't think Mike would mind me mentioning some other changes that are going to happen, since he is in Hawaii and can't do it himself.
1) AU will be abandoning the P-3 and will be retooling with:
a) PBY Catalina's, DC-7's, and A-26's.
b) For SEAT's they will find older TBM Avengers that are already equiped for firefighting and reactivate those.
2) I will be given one of the Avengers to fly.
3) Bumblebee will be in charge of getting me coffee.
Thanks all!

just to let you know, I would be glad to bring you your "coffee"I have always wanted to fly the Avenger!
For such a smart guy, with generally great SA, you have made a grave tactical error!
Not a likely scenario. Right now the USFS want's to push ahead with a modern platform (you pick) and possibly a GO-CO concept (government owned contractor operated). It will be interesting to see how the GO-CO concept will change the prerequisites of training/background required. IE are they going to give the keys to the brand new shiny 80 mil airplane to someone without formal training (like military or Part-121)? It is going to be an interesting next few years. They need to get Airspray's (of Canada) old TBMs that were up for sale just a few years ago. I don't believe any air tanker modded TBMs still exist in the USA.
Also, AU would have to bring back the old SP-2H Firestar's as well as the DC-4/C-54s which used to be the backbone of the fleet.
Oh, and pull Bill Waldman out of retirement....first met him as a kid when he was flying Aero Union's B-17 9323Z, which is now the Sentimental Journey based at Falcon Field, AZ.
Maybe not the best use of SA!
Seriously...I have always wanted to fly an Avenger. I like to old "ugly" warbirds best - Avengers, Skyraiders, P-47's, etc.

There were still a few up there (last time I was there) we traded them for P3 parts. The FS prefers four engine tankers for firefighting contracts, so even those would not be sufficient anymore.
that is why Neptune and Minden both can still fly the P2V, those scary little jets:bandit:So that's how Neptune Inc is able to utilize their P-2s? Since they have 2 recips and 2 jets, whereas AU removed the jets from their SP-2Hs?
