We took delievery of our new airplane today. I have to say, it is one of the coolest airplanes I have ever flown. The Synthetic Vision is amazing. The keypad entry system is awesome, you literally just type in the new frequency. The GPS is more like an FMS with built in airways, all entered through the keypad. I will have better photos of the panel for my June Photos thread, but here are a few from today.

On the ramp.

Departing, notice the terrain features that slide by on the PFD.

That's all,

Daaaaaaaaaayum!! That's a nice bird! Congrats my friend!

Nice A/C, are you still flying with the old guy with the back probs? When is the June Issue of Flyin Pics coming out anyway?:)

We're the same age and here I am working on my CSEL and working at a bank while you're flying awesome airplanes around, congrats!!

But he's not drunk as a monkey every weekend dialing his friends on his iPHone!

You stepped in a major pile of a substance that would normally trip the profanity filter. Beautiful airplane man! Enjoy and fly safe!

And a VERY new Meridian at that. I'm glad to see Piper moving away from the Avidyne system, it has problems. I was hoping to get to move from the Matrix to a Meridian but got this instead. Life sucks:sarcasm:

Slick. I kind of miss flying the Meridian. Although I don't miss flying passengers in it. I flew both the Meggitt and Avidyne panels. Neither of them were that great.

I flew PC-12's with synthetic vision (Universal system). Never was that impressed with it. Of course, in the midwest, you look like you're flying over a golf course for the most part. Maybe the Garmin system is better. Does it show obstacles as well as terrain?

Big....screen.

That synthetic vision looks pretty bad ass. When you descend around mountains, do the moutains or hills actually appear to "pop up" or is it flat like in those pics?

The angle on that last pick makes the aircraft look as if the wings were crooked with the airframe.
