Era Helicopters LLC Lake Charles, Louisiana:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Alert Air Medical Helicopters of pending flight
requests;
* Flight follow for Air Medical Helicopters for the
duration of mission;
* Receive and relay medical reports from ground
ambulance responders to airborne medical crews;
* Receive and relay landing zone information from
first responders to airborne flight crews;
* Record flight information for billing purposes;
* Coordinate ground transport assets for emergent
transfers;
* Maintain an interface with both private and public
safety agencies to ensure proper coordination of
transport services in emergency and trauma-related
transport activities;
* Monitor, read and interpret weather information as
requested;
* Maintain a database on hospital locations, landing
zones and potential hazards;
* Access, read and interpret county, state and
specialized maps for determining locations of
patients other than in established facilities, such
as accident scenes;
* Provide information, as requested, to crews
including but not limited to: flight distance,
latitudes and longitudes, any known potential
hazards, facilities information and directions to
specific landing sites;
* Monitor aircraft position and flight path;
* Enter, record and maintain a file of reports, forms,
records and daily logs as directed;
* Perform other related duties incidental to the work
described herein.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* A preference given to prior EMS experience or
medical background skills that would enable
candidate to understand and relay medical reports
accurately;
* Must possess or display an aptitude for learning
proper two way radio communications procedures;
* Must be organized and be able to work effectively
independently and as a team with a large and varied
workload;
* Must demonstrate an advanced ability to accurately
record information;
* Must be able to handle multi-line phone system;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
required;
* Attention to detail and focus on
task/responsibilities is essential;
* Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as
required;
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required;
* Must be able to communicate effectively with
customers and regulatory agencies;
* Must be EMD certified or willing to earn EMD
certification;
* Must be CPR/First Responder certified or willing to
earn CPR/First Responder certification.
